Doodle Football

Doodle Football is Google's goalkeeper game from the London 2012 Olympics, and many people still call it Google Football. You are the keeper: a striker takes penalty after penalty, and you dive to keep the ball out of the net. Play the football doodle here for free, in your browser, on a computer or a phone.

How to play Google Football

  • Press Play. The striker starts shooting straight away.
  • Move the keeper left and right to stand in the path of the ball.
  • Jump for high shots. Low shots stop when the keeper is in the way.
  • Each goal you let in adds an X to the scoreboard. Three X's and the game is over.
  • The shots get faster the longer you last. Your score is in the top corner: beat it next time.

Controls

  • Mouse: move left and right to position the keeper, click to jump.
  • Keyboard: left and right arrow keys to move, Up arrow or Space to jump.
  • Phone or tablet: drag your finger to move, tap to jump.

The London 2012 football doodle

Google put this football game on its homepage on 10 August 2012, during the London Olympics. It was one of four Olympic doodles you could play that summer, with Hurdles, Basketball and Slalom Canoe.
